Veterinary preceptorships are available to senior level veterinary students for a 6 to 8 week period. The program emphasizes field immobilization techniques, preventive medicine, conservation-oriented research and an international perspective.

The Rocky Mountain Wildlife Veterinary Externship is a collaborative program for 4th-year veterinary students offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the National Park Service, and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

Rocky Mountain Wildlife Veterinary Externship

This collaborative approach to veterinary student training in the Rocky Mountain region is designed to provide students with broad exposure to the numerous wildlife veterinary professionals present in the region. Student projects will be designed with host agencies to provide a real-world experience for the student and contribute to agency missions.
