The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is currently recruiting for a Veterinarian, Medical Officer to join their Wildlife Forensic Health Laboratory team in Eagle, Idaho.
General Information: This position serves as Veterinary Medical Officer for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. There will be day-to-day contact with Department staff, partners, and public. The incumbent perform necropsies, disease sampling, test analysis, handle infectious organisms, and use hazardous chemicals.
This position, with or without reasonable accommodations, involves the physical ability to lift and move animal carcasses weighing up to 110 pounds and climbing obstacles and negotiating rough terrain. The incumbent may be required to fly in fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. This work may involve the following: walking and backpacking for several hours; operating off road vehicles and snow machines in rugged terrain; handling sedated and unsedated wild animals; working in extreme weather conditions.
