Dr. Kathleen Alexander’s research group in the Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation is seeking a One health laboratory manager. Our group carries out research on the ecology and epidemiology of infectious diseases using a one health approach. The lab manager will work on multiple ongoing projects as well as manage the day-to-day activities for the research group. Our work program engages studies that span the human-wildlife-domestic animal–environmental interface in Africa with a focus on Northern Botswana. We use cutting-edge microbiological and molecular tools and modeling approaches that are integrated with field studies of wild and domestic animals, humans and the environment to address complex questions in disease ecology. Examples of project-related and administrative activities are listed in the job posting.
